Flu hitting patients, staff and visitors

This year’s flu season is not only taking a toll on patients but also making extra demands on the staff and visitors at Santa Ynez Valley Cottage Hospital.

There were more than six times as many local flu patients in October than there were a year ago, for example, with three people hospitalized and one of those so ill he had to be transferred to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for additional care.
