The red carpet was rolled out for girls and their fathers Saturday evening at the fourth annual Princess Ball at the Solvang Veterans Memorial Building.
“The highlight of the event is seeing the fathers and their daughters all dressed up. We have some dads wearing tuxedos and daughters in their ball gowns,” said Paula Parisotto, associate executive director of the YMCA, which organizes the dance.
The event was almost at capacity, with about 400 tickets sold in advance, she added.
The theme of the ball was “Hollywood Glitz and Glam: A Night on the Red Carpet,” and if the dads and daughters came early they got their portraits taken by Christine’s Photography.
Daughters were given a tiara upon walking the red carpet and a glitzy coin purse goody-bag at the end of the night.
The ball lasted until 9 p.m., with music provided by AMS Entertainment of Grover Beach. Refreshments were donated by the Atterdag Village of Solvang and the Solvang Friendship House.
