Missionary completes year in Philippines

Elder David Clark has just completed the first year of a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He is serving in the Cebu Philippines Mission, where he is presently working in the city of Apas Lahug.
Clark is the son of Jack and Joanne Clark, and the grandson of Gerda Willis.
He grew up in Solvang, and attended church in the Solvang ward, where he was involved with Boy Scouts of America Troop 46 and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout and also received his Duty To God Award.
He attended Santa Ynez Valley Union High School where he was active in student government, represented the school at Boys State and graduated with honors in 2008.
According to his father, Clark says his mission is by far the best thing he has ever done He loves the people of the Philippines and everything about the country. He especially loves sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with the people he encounters.
Missionaries are also involved in service projects as well as helping where needs arise with the people in the area they serve.
