Celebrate a Valley-style Fourth of July

The Rotary Club of the Santa Ynez Valley invites the community to celebrate the Fourth of July at Old Mission Santa In/s from 1 to 9 p.m. Friday, when a fireworks show is scheduled. Admission is free.

There will be a variety of food booths and a Wine and Beer Garden on the grounds. There will also be game and trinket booths for all ages. Special activities for children are also planned.

Area bands are scheduled to perform and Mix 96.7 will broadcast live from the Mission grounds.

Funds raised at the event support local charities and groups.

The Rotary Club of Solvang will again sponsor the annual Fourth of July Parade and Barbecue. The parade is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. at the Mission, travel west down Mission Drive to Fourth Place, then down Copenhagen Drive back to the Miss- ion. This year’s theme will honor families.

The barbecue in Solvang Park with hot dogs and hamburgers will be 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Mission Drive (Highway 246) will be closed from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. The detour for east, west and northbound traffic will be Fifth Street or Pine Street to Laurel Avenue.
