Half-marathon has a successful second run
Staff Report
The second Santa Barbara Wine Country Half-Marathon hit the road Saturday with more than 2,200 runners participating. The Half-Marathon wound its way from Santa Ynez through Los Olivos and ended in Solvang.
Mario Macias of Alamosa, Colo., and Susan Loken of Phoenix won the race in dominating performances. Macias ran a time of 1:07:35 and Loken led wire-to-wire, defending her 2007 title with a time of 1:21:21. Other finishers included 11 runners more than 70 years old.
